doctor, doctor give me the news
Last Saturday at work we all dressed up to raise money for charity, there was a medical theme, as the money went towards buying equipment in local hospitals. So I decided to go for an early 1900's style nurse. Of course I started my quest for inspiration on the Internet and found some exciting stuff.

So after some good thrfting and scouring the plentiful vintage stock of Leeds I found a long navy blue skirt with big open pockets on either side from Mad Elizabeth Vintage and a white blouse with a little bit of detail, but was still smart enough for a uniform in All American Vintage. I made the apron, cape and hat myself. (The only thing i ailed to find was a good pair of shoes to match the rest of the outfit.)
It was a lovely day full of generous people and I won the competition for best costume, yey me.

I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen
Over the past few weeks I've been working a ton so not really worn anything but my work uniform and my pjs, but this weekend was my boyfriends 18th birthday and had the weekend off. Got some new Levis shorts for £8! and a new tie dye top from urban outfitters for the occasion, they made me feel oh so summery.
Think my cat liked my shorts more than I do. Also in this photo you can see the sleeping bag that Christie and me bought this weekend for the summer, as we're going to be spending about a months worth in our tent.
This is my new tie dye top, I love how vibrant it is, also I wore my new necklace that arrived last week from Flamingo Cupcake, it has a cameo style frame with a picture inside of John Cusack and Ione Skye in Say Anything, one of my favourite 80s films.

I want my life to be like an 80's movie.
